Stevie Nicks has teamed up with Miley Cyrus for a remix of the pop star’s latest single Midnight Sky.
The throwback track has been a mainstay in the charts worldwide thanks to its catchy hook and Edge of Seventeen sample, with fans already creating their own mash-ups online.
Now, the singers have united for a new version of the song, incorporating Stevie’s’ classic 1981 hit with Miley’s 2020 number, featuring new vocals from both stars.
The Fleetwood Mac frontwoman replaces Miley’s second verse with her own lyrics from the single, taken from her solo debut Bella Donna, and also sings on the latter choruses.
Midnight Sky (Edge of Midnight) is featured on Miley’s new album, Plastic Hearts, released November 27th. Pre-order yours here.
The Mother’s Daughter hitmaker previously revealed Stevie gave her permission to “borrow” musical ideas from the Fleetwood Mac legend whenever she wants in “the coolest letter ever”.
“I sent her the song and I said, ‘I have an alternate melody, if you don’t want me to kind of like pay tribute to you and your greatness and how much you’ve inspired me,’” Miley recalled during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “And she said, ‘You can borrow from me anytime.’”
