Miley Cryus proves herself a fine 21st century rock star with her first live album.
The LP documents each distinct era of the hitmaker’s career, from angsty teen heartbreak number 7 Things through to cuts from her latest album ‘Plastic Hearts’.
Each of the tracks has been brought up to date to reflect the edgier, guitar-driven sound of her latest era, resulting in a cohesive set that brings out the best in the star’s impressive repertoire.
The album also includes brand-new songs ATTENTION and You – which she debuted during her recent New Year’s Eve special alongside Pete Davidson – along with a selection of cover versions, for which Miley has become renowned in recent years.
Included are her takes on Blondie’s Heart of Glass and Godmother Dolly Parton’s Jolene, along with recordings of Madonna’s Like a Prayer and Cher’s Bang Bang, which segues into her early hit See You Again.
Similarly, her mash-up of Midnight Sky and Stevie Nicks classic Edge of Seventeen is brought to life with spectacular results on stage.
From pop and rock to new wave and country, the set demonstrates Miley’s vocal versatility and leaves no doubt of her position as one of today’s premier pop acts.
Marking 15 years since the beginning of her solo career, it seems she’s just getting started – and we’re here for the ride!
