Melanie C is relieved to be back in possession of her personal Spice Girls memorabilia collection after it appeared on eBay for just 99p.
The singer discovered the items, including her iconic tracksuits, home videos and photos of the band, and early demo tapes listed on the auction site, with the “job lot” listed with a starting price of just 99p.
Other items pictured include a hard-drive and a cassette tape simply labelled ‘David Beckham’ – the husband of former bandmate Victoria.
According to Melanie, the belongings ended up on the site following a mix-up at the unit, with the star admitting she was “shocked” to discover them online.
“Gosh! I was quite shocked about that situation,” she told the Daily Mirror. “I was very shocked to see that on eBay.
“There was a little bit of a mix-up in an old storage unit of mine but I do have possession of everything now. I was able to get my hands on it quite quickly.
“It was fans that spotted it on eBay and thought there was something not quite right so thankfully, we were able to intercept it quite quickly.
“This is the thing – our fans are absolutely incredible. We absolutely adore them. We’ve grown up with them.
“Sometimes we go to countries I’ve not been [to] in decades and I still recognise people that come to see us and it’s like, ‘Oh my gosh! You look great!’”
It comes after Melanie recently reunited with her four bandmates – including Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Victoria – for a special Pride Month merch drop, via Victoria’s signature fashion line.
The ‘Wannabe’ charity T-shirt, featuring the words “Proud and Wannabe Your Lover”, has been created in association with the Albert Kennedy Trust; an LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity working with young people aged 16 – 25.
It’s the third year in a row Victoria’s fashion company has partnered with the organisation, with 100 per cent of the profits benefiting their work.
