Melanie C will release new solo material next year.
The Spice Girls legend let slip the news in an interview with the ‘Chris Moyles Show’ on Radio X following her surprise appearance with Orbital at Glastonbury.
Opening up about the idea of returning to Glastonbury – where she DJ’ed in 2022 and played at the Avalon Stage last year with her band – as a solo artist, she teased: “Well, it would be quite nice to do it on my own, wouldn’t it?
“I might have some new music out. Well, I will have some new music out next year.”
However, Melanie went on to admit “there’s nothing I would like more” than headlining Worthy Farm with Emma Bunton, Mel B, Geri Horner and Victoria Beckham.
“I think the absolute ultimate would be to do it with the Spice Girls,” she shared. “There’s nothing I would like more. But you know, while they’re still making their minds up…”
Noting the Spice Girls have never played the legendary festival because “in the ’90s, they didn’t have pop music at music festivals”, Melanie insisted: “It would be a belting headliner.”
