Mel B is determined to get the Spice Girls back in the studio to work on new music.
The singer discussed the future of the group during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Monday, May 17, revealing she and bandmates Emma Bunton, Melanie C and Geri Horner are looking forward to getting back together.
She teased: “We’ve been more about the lines of doing music together and hopefully getting the tour up and running because everything got shut down because of lockdown.
“My aim is for us to get back together and do some more songs together – and hopefully getting up on stage and entertaining everybody again.”
And although Victoria Beckham sat out of the girl group’s stadium reunion tour in 2019, Mel hasn’t given up hope that the band will be a five-piece again in the future.
Asked if the girls’ plans include Victoria, Mel added: “I hope so. I really hope so.”
Despite recent reports suggesting the Wannabe hitmakers were working on a sequel to their hit 1997 movie ‘Spice World’, Mel addressed the rumours, insisting they “haven’t been discussing that”.
“I heard there was some reunion of a film,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Well that’s the first I’ve heard.’”
Mel appeared on the show to promote her work with Women’s Aid, after teaming up with the organisation on a video depicting the two faces of domestic abuse.
