Spice Girls will reunite later this year, Mel B has confirmed.
The singer was appearing on UK TV show ‘Loose Women’ on Thursday (March 7) when she let slip the exciting news.
Chatting about the Wannabe group’s 30th anniversary, co-host Christine Lampard asked Mel about the possibility of a reunion, saying: “We need happiness, we need empowerment back again, we need Spice Girls back basically.”
“Tell me about it,” Scary Spice replied, prompting Christine to press for more details.
“Oh no, we are definitely doing something,” she insisted. “I’m probably going to get told off, but I’ve said it. There you go.
“We’ll be announcing at some point later this year. Now I’m going to be in trouble.”
The five-piece – starring Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Geri Horner, Mel B and Melanie C – formed after responding to an advert for a new band in The Stage magazine in 1994.
Marking 30 years to the day since they first auditioned, the group shared a video montage from the process on social media this week, soundtracked by their iconic hit Wannabe.
“Today marks the 30th anniversary of the very first Spice Girls auditions!” they wrote on X.
“What started back in 1994 has turned into an amazing journey, way beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Thank you to our fans for your support from day one.”
