A bunch of remixes of Mary Wilson’s dance floor classic Red Hot have been issued digitally for the first time.
The track was lifted as the lead single from the singer’s self-titled debut album, originally released back in 1979.
Plans had been in place to celebrate the legacy of the classic LP earlier this year, but tragedy struck with the Supremes star passing just weeks before the release date.
That hasn’t stopped fans from remembering the music icon with the expanded edition of her record, and now top remixer Eric Kupper has worked his magic on Red Hot.
Inspired by the original version found on ‘Mary Wilson: Expanded Edition’, the three-track set features the standard remix and dub mix, along with a radio edit of the reworking.
Along with Diana Ross and Florence Ballard, the Supremes signed to Motown in January 1961, making this year their 60th anniversary.
The group scored an unprecedented string of 12 No. 1 hits and the first No. 1 album for a female group.
