Martin Kemp has been forced to step down from his work commitments after testing positive for coronavirus.
The Spandau Ballet star was set to hit the stage on Friday, August 27 for his ‘80s Gold DJ Set’ at The Picturedrome, Holmfirth, but has put the show on hold due.
A statement from his management reads: “So sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but management have just informed us that Martin has tested positive for COVID.
Guys thank you so much for your well wishes…

“We kindly request that customers who have purchased tickets for this weekend’s show retain them until a rescheduled date can be confirmed.”
In his own social media post, Martin said: “Guys thank you so much for your well wishes… COVID caught up with me a few days ago.

Sharing the post, Martin’s brother Gary, who released his latest album ‘INSOLO’ earlier this year, added: “Get well soon, Bro. Xxx.”
Martin’s show at Wylam Brewary, Newcastle on Sunday will also be rescheduled, while his September 3 gig at The Harlington, Fleet looks to be going ahead as planned.
