Mariah Carey has been working with sibling gospel group The Clark Sisters on a new project.
The singer, who recently released the radio hit Somewhat Loved (There You Go Breakin’ My Heart) with Jam & Lewis, is in the midst of recording a new album and working on her 2021 Apple TV+ holiday special.
While details are being kept firmly under wraps, Dorinda Clark-Cole – one quarter of the group – recently teased their work with the Fantasy hitmaker.
In footage recorded from her home church, Detroit’s Greater Emmanuel Institutional, she says: “It has been a very, very strenuous week for us.
“Of course, being with my sisters the first two days of this week and doing something with Ms. Mariah Carey.
“So, that’s one thing…” she adds.
Although Dorinda didn’t divulge further information about the collaboration, Mariah is reportedly working on “a heavily R&B-influenced album” in the vein of her classic 2005 LP ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’.
Speaking about the new music, she recently told fans during an online discussion: “Oh my gosh, you guys! I’m like obsessed with what I’m doing right now. But I can’t reveal it yet. It’s exciting!
“I’m really with this music. I haven’t made [music in this way] in years. During the pandemic, I was able to rest my voice and get it back to where it needs to be. So here we are!”
