Mariah Carey has returned to the US Billboard Hot 100 with her latest single, Type Dangerous.
The track is the first to be lifted from the diva’s much-anticipated 16th studio album, expected later this year, and debuted at No. 95 on the countdown dated June 21, 2025.
The single debuted with 2.5 million official streams, 14.7 million in radio airplay audience and 5,000 sold in the US, according to data tracker Luminate (via Billboard).
The Obsessed hitmaker gave Type Dangerous its live debut at the 2025 BET Awards on June 9, when she received the Ultimate Icon Award, and premiered its official music video over the weekend (June 14).
While it’s Carey’s first new entry on the Hot 100 since Oh Santa! (featuring Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson) in 2020, it’s not her first of the year – her holiday classic, All I Want For Christmas Is You, started the year at No. 1 on the countdown.
