Mariah Carey has been injected with her second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine – and the experience was just as iconic as you’d expect.
The We Belong Together hitmaker had her first jab in April and has already returned for her second, sharing the experience with fans on Instagram while rubbishing claims she faked her first jab.
“I’m a little nervous, again,” declared Mariah in the video, as she patiently sat in a doctor’s chair and waited for her second dose. “But it’s gonna be what it is.”
She titled the clip: “Vaccine..PART 2!” and jokingly made reference to those who claimed her first vaccine was fake – with some people claiming that the needle “didn’t go in”.
“By the way, people were like, ‘It’s a fake needle’. Would I ever go into this lighting for no reason? No,” she added.
Mariah previously burst into song after receiving her first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
The Obsessed singer was given her first injection last month (April) and celebrated with one of her trademark high notes.
And when the vaccine was finished and taken out of her arm, there wasn’t any blood, with Mimi joking it was proof that she is “actually a vampire”.
The Fantasy hitmaker previously insisted getting Covid could end her career.
Explaining why she couldn’t sit for a deposition in regard to a court case with her former assistant, her team insisted: “Covid-19 presents risks to all people, including lung damage, heart damage, organ failure, and death.
“Unique to Mariah, however, is the potential career-ending impact of any lung damage.”
Despite the pandemic, 2020 was a busy year for the star, who dropped her top-selling memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, and celebrated three decades since her chart-topping debut album.
Along with vinyl reissues of her entire discography, up until 2014’s Me. I Am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse., she also released The Rarities – an album of outtakes, B-sides and live cuts.
In our review of the album, Retro Pop said Mariah “more than proves she’s earned her ‘icon’ status” across its 15 tracks.
