Marc Almond is the latest act to sign on for Live Nation’s Drive-In concert series.
The promoter is hosting the special events at open-air venues across the UK in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis, and the Soft Cell star joins previously announced acts including Gary Numan and Tony Hadley.
Tainted Love star Marc will kick off his shows on August 6th at the Lincolnshire Showground, and play shows across the country, including dates in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Leeds and London.
He’ll wrap the jaunt on September 11th with a show at Newmarket Racecourse.
Hue and Cry, Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy’s boyband supergroup Boyzlife, and Bjorn Again will also be performing concerts as part of the nationwide series of tours.
The Whitney Houston and Tina Turner tribute shows, Whitney – Queen of The Night, and What’s Love Got To Do With It?, also feature.
In a press release, Live Nation promoter Peter Taylor said: “We are excited to bring Utilita Live From The Drive-In to fans across the U.K.
“This outdoor concert series was created as a way to reimagine the live music experience during a time of social distancing by allowing fans to enjoy concerts in the safest way possible.
“Each event will comply with all official Government guidelines in order to protect fans, artists, crews and staff. We look forward to announcing some of the biggest names across U.K. music and bringing these fantastic artists to a city near you.”
