Alcazar star Magnus Carlsson has released a new version of Rick Astley’s classic hit Never Gonna Give You Up.
The singer, who appeared with the group from 2002-2005 and featured on the Swedish No. 1 singles Not a Sinner Nor a Saint and Alcastar, dropped his latest track ahead of his solo album ‘Atmosphere’.
Due this month, the LP is the singer’s first non-festive English Language album since 2010’s ‘Pop Galaxy’.
It features the pre-release singles Lights and Day and Night, a collaboration with Greek-Swedish Eurovision legend Helena Paparizou.
Carlsson, who was also a member of the group Barbados, has performed at Sweden’s Melodifestivalen a number of times – including with Alcazar and as a solo act – but missed out on the opportunity to represent the country at Eurovision.
