Madonna performed Express Yourself live for the first time on her ‘Celebration Tour’ during its latest stop in Boston.
The Queen Of Pop is currently taking her 40th anniversary show across the US and switched things up on Monday (January 8) night, trading out her cover of Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive in favour of her 1989 hit.
“One of the things I’m grateful for is that I get to perform every night on this stage with my four beautiful children,” she said while introducing the song, lifted from her ‘Like A Prayer’ (1989) album.
“Family isn’t just what you’re born into; family is the family that you create,” added the superstar, before urging fans to shine the torches on their phones and leading a singalong to This Little Light Of Mine.
“While I’m telling you right now what I need, I also wanna tell you what I don’t need,” Madonna continued, before launching into a stripped back rendition of the anthem.
