Madonna will celebrate the 30th anniversary of her fifth album ‘Erotica’ with the release of a limited edition 12” vinyl picture disc.
Originally scheduled for release in autumn 1992, the picture disc features a colourised version of the famous ‘toe sucking’ photo taken from Madonna’s ‘Sex’ book.
However, just ahead of its planned release the picture disc was cancelled unexpectedly, as the image was considered too explicit for in-store display.
Dear Johnny, I hope the world's now ready for it…

Although manufactured copies were destroyed, a few of the finished product found their way into the hands of fans.
Three decades on, it’s finally set to be released, featuring the Album Version of the single on side A, and the Instrumental and Radio Edit on side B.
“Erotica” was the album’s first single and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it spent 18 weeks on the chart. It also reached No. 3 in the UK.
The Erotica picture disc is out November 25 and available to pre-order now.
It comes after Madonna celebrated her 50 US Dance Club Songs Chart No. 1 hits with the ‘Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones’ remix collection.
The 50-track collection includes her favourite remixes of her dance hits, spanning her entire four-decade career.
Each remix has been newly remastered by Mike Dean, who produced Madonna’s two most-recent studio albums, ‘Rebel Heart’ and ‘Madame X’.
In addition to the bumper set, an abridged 16-track LP, simply titled ‘Finally Enough Love’, has also been issued.
‘Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones’ is available now.
