Madonna has teamed up with Charli XCX on a new version of her ‘Confessions II’ track ‘Danceteria’.
On the heels of the artists’ CLUB CONFESSIONS party with Saint Laurent during Paris Fashion Week, they’ll release the new track, produced by Stuart Price, on Thursday (September 24) via Warner Records.
According to an announcement, ‘Danceteria Afterhours’ fuses Madge’s dance music sensibilities with Charli’s brand of boundary-pushing pop, bringing together the influences that have shaped both of their careers.
The ‘BRAT’ star recent spoke about her bond with the Queen of Pop in an interview with BBC 6, sharing: “We went to Paris and we just couldn’t stop hanging out with each other. And it was fab! She is so interested in really talking about the music that she makes, and how and why, and I found it very inspiring to hang out with her.”
Alongside the digital release, ‘Danceteria Afterhours’ will be available across three limited-edition CD singles. Upon the release of ‘Confessions II’, ‘Danceteria’ entered the UK Top 40 at No. 38.
The release comes ahead of Madonna’s upcoming performance at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) – her first in 23 years – where she’s received a career-high 13 nominations.
