Louise has dropped five tracks from her scrapped fourth album on her new ‘Lil’ Lou’ EP.
Following the release of ‘Elbow Beach’ in 2000, the former Eternal star set to work on a planned LP but the project never materialised and after releasing the single Pandora’s Kiss/Don’t Give Up, she stepped away from music for over 15 years.
Having originally released the songs as part of a bumper deluxe edition of her ‘Greatest Hits’ album, Louise has shared the tunes – Bounce Back, Slam, Lil’ Lou, Make It Fit and Don’t Ever Change – as a standalone EP.
Speaking in RETROPOP’s July cover feature, the hitmaker opened up about the ‘lost’ record, sharing: “I got quite far down the line with that album. I got about 10 or 12 tracks in – you write and record a lot more than that for an album – but I got quite far and then I got pregnant with Charlie.
“But you know, everything happens for a reason and we actually pulled some of those songs out of the vault recently. I’m still in touch with some of the producers that worked on those songs, so…”
