Louise is already hard at work on the follow-up to her 2019 album Heavy Love – and it could be coming sooner than we think.
The Let’s Go Round Again star is gearing up to return to the stage for a socially-distanced live show and livestream event at London’s Clapham Grand and, speaking to Metro, she teased new music is on the way too.
Teasing another record is coming sooner rather than later, she shared: “I’ve already started working on the next album and I almost feel like it’s even a step up from the last album.
“It feels like the second album again, but it’s actually my fifth – sixth if we include the greatest hits – but it’s almost like we’ve veered even further in direction for the next album so I’m already so excited.”
Louise has been working on the project during the Covid-19 lockdown but, while she’s full of inspiration, she admitted it’s been strange having to do some of the process over Zoom rather than face-to-face.
“I’m not somebody that finds it easy over Zoom, I’m so in the room,” she explained. “I like being present and I love being with people, I find it really hard to work remotely.
“I really feed off other people’s energies and I always think that other people feed off my energy – if that makes sense? I’m such a team player when it comes to making music, I don’t just sit there in my own head, I like to test everything out to see other people’s reactions to the lyrics and melodies so I really struggle doing it just on my own.
“But luckily, you know, there’s been ways of sending records back and forth,” she concluded.
