Voice of Livin’ Joy Tameko Star has revealed plans for her musical comeback, including a huge duet with Janice Robinson.

The Italian Eurodance group launched onto the music scene in 1994 with their monster hit single Dreamer, featuring vocals from Janice, who departed the group following the success and was replaced by Tameko.

Livin’ Joy’s Tameko Star returns with new single ‘Something Beautiful’

As vocalist and songwriter, she took the group to new heights around the world with the hits Don’t Stop Movin’, Follow the Rules and Where Can I Find Love, lifted from the album ‘Don’t Stop Movin’’ (1996) – and now, 25 years later, she’s back.

“Now is the time where independent artists can flourish, as opposed to being under a record label, being the last to get paid and being cheated out of your money, and being tossed about in the industry,” Tameko tells the December 2022 issue of Retro Pop of her return to music.

“Let me take the reins on my own accord and make music that I love for myself and for the Livin’ Joy fans – so I did, and here comes Something Beautiful. Literally, that’s the title of the song…”

The feelgood track is a flavour of what’s to come from the vocal powerhouse, who leans into ‘90s influences on her latest recording, and Tameko credits artists such as Beyoncé for reintroducing the sounds of the decade to the charts.

“I’m very excited about it. I’m glad that [Beyoncé] actually came out [with ‘Renaissance’], because it makes it easier to digest ‘90s artists coming back and recreating that sound – because the ‘90s was the best time in music,” she smiles.

“I do believe that God is guiding me and I have no fear whatsoever. None. I’m just going forward, I am taking my own advice in the music of Don’t Stop Movin’, because it’s an inspirational song and I use it for inspiration all the time. It’s my mantra!”

Following the release of Something Beautiful, Tameko has plans for more music and teases a huge duet with Janice is in the works.

“That is going to be explosive; trust and believe it’s in the works,” she beams. “I think that’s it right there, that’s the thing that’s going to be everything. I think the fans are gonna really really love it.”

Something Beautiful is out now.
