Voice of Livin’ Joy Tameko Star is back with her brand new solo single Something Beautiful.
The track marks the beginning of a new chapter for the vocalist, who joined the ‘90s group following the departure of Janice Robinson and scored the massive hit single Don’t Stop Movin’.
Speaking in the December 2022 issue of Retro Pop, Tameko opened up about her return to the studio, sharing: “Now is the time where independent artists can flourish, as opposed to being under a record label, being the last to get paid and being cheated out of your money, and being tossed about in the industry.
“Let me take the reins on my own accord and make music that I love for myself and for the Livin’ Joy fans – so I did, and here comes Something Beautiful.”
Livin’ Joy launched onto the music scene in 1994 with their monster hit single Dreamer.
Featuring vocals from Janice Robinson, it topped the US Dance Chart and peaked in the UK Top 20, before a 1995 reissue saw it hit No. 1 on the Official Singles Chart, becoming one of the biggest dance anthems of the decade.
However, following the success Janice departed the group and in came Tameko Star, who took Livin’ Joy to new heights around the world with the hits Don’t Stop Movin’, Follow the Rules and Where Can I Find Love, lifted from the album ‘Don’t Stop Movin’’ (1996).
