Dolly Parton has revealed she and Stevie Nicks have recorded a song written by the Fleetwood Mac star in the 1980s.
The country icon is working on a rock album following her 2022 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the Dreams star one of several high-profile collaborators.
In an interview with USA Today, Dolly shared details of their duet, revealing: “I had fun singing with Stevie [Nicks]. It’s a song she wrote called What Has Rock ‘n Roll Ever Done for Me, a cute little song.”
The track dates back to sessions for the star’s third solo album ‘Rock a Little’ (1985) – check out her original demo!
Other big names on the project include Elton John, Joan Jett and Paul McCartney, with Dolly revealing Annie Lennox and Cher will join her on a version of Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).
Duran Duran star Simon Le Bon is singing on Dolly’s song My Blue Tears and she’s hoping to get Mick Jagger to join her, Brandi Carlile and P!nk on (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.
Titled ‘Rock Star’, the album is due out later this year.
