Lisa Scott-Lee has finally unveiled her unreleased Chicane collaboration, Burnt Out and Falling.
Lifted from the forthcoming ‘Unleashed’ reissue of her solo album, ‘Never or Now’, according to Lisa the track was written in the early-noughties for Steps.
Although the band never recorded the track, it’s one of three additional songs included on the new edition of her LP, which is finally released across vinyl, CD and cassette this summer.
Listen to Burnt Out and Falling below.
It comes after Lisa took to the stage at Mighty Hoopla in Brockwell Park, London to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut solo single, Lately.
In between performances of her own singles Too Far Gone and Electric, plus the group’s hits Better The Devil You Know, Stomp and Tragedy, and a cover of Bryan Adams’ Heaven, she hinted there’s more solo music to come.
“I’ve been in the studio with Ian Masterson, he’s very talented,” beamed Lisa. “I do have to say – it’s been 20 years since I wrote and recorded ‘Lately’ and my album but the great thing is it’s coming out later in the year!”
Elsewhere in her seven-song set, Lisa – who entered the stage wearing a long white coat and dark sunglasses before revealing a shimmering silver bodysuit – also offered promising news for Steps fans.
“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Steps,” she said. “As you know, Steps is a massive, massive part of my life – it always has been.
“We’ve had an incredible 25 years but in the last five years we have released four albums, we’ve had more number ones and it’s just been amazing. But there’s more to come, so don’t worry!”
‘Never or Now’ is due this summer on vinyl, CD and cassette via Plastic Pop.
