Almost a decade after he was ousted from Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham says a reunion with former bandmate Stevie Nicks could be on the cards.

The legendary duo – who last year reissued their 1973 album ‘Buckingham Nicks’, making it available for the first time since its original release – dated in the early 1970s before separating upon joining the band, with their breakup going on to influence much of the seminal ‘Rumours’ LP.

Upon sharing their earliest work again, Nicks revealed the pair are back on talking terms, saying: “Lindsey and I started talking about [the album] last night. This whole thing seems really like yesterday to us.”

Now, Buckingham has dropped another hint of a potential reunion in a video shared to Instagram, discussing what he’s looking forward to in 2026, including a new solo album and Fleetwood Mac documentary.

He adds: “I think on a more general level, just the energy of what Buckingham Nicks did to sort of create a resurgence of connection between Stevie and myself, I think on a larger scale that seems to be something that’s in the air.

“And what that translates to specifically, I wouldn’t want to speculate yet, but I believe with all my heart it will translate to something good and something wonderful and something needed and something extremely appropriate.”
