Lil Nas X is the subject of a new documentary set to debut on HBO later this month.
‘Long Live Montero’ will air on the network on January 27 and will also be available to stream on Max.
According to a synopsis, the film “captures the creative dynamo and mesmerising star power of Lil Nas X […] as he prepares for and embarks on his first-ever headlining US tour”.
“With unparalleled access, the film follows the genre-breaking artist on a personal journey of self-investigation and discovery as he creates, rehearses, and performs nightly in front of his legions of devoted fans,” it adds.
Directed by Zac Manuel and Carlos López Estrada, the documentary originally premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Its release coincides with the Industry Baby star’s return with new music, which he recently announced will debut next week (beginning January 8).
In a post on X, the Old Town Road hitmaker shared four photos of himself in priest robes and the message: “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.”
“i know it’s been 2 years but….yall ready for a show?” he added on Instagram.
The track appears to be a collaboration with Kesha, with the pair teasing a joint release in a series of posts on social media, in which they’re seen separately holding cardboard signs pointing to a duet.
