Leona Lewis has called off the latest show on her UK holiday tour after losing her voice.
The One More Sleep hitmaker is celebrating 10 years since the release of ‘Christmas, With Love’ (2013) with a run of shows across the UK, which launched November 28 in Nottingham.
Mcenter>But on Friday night (December 1), the singer struggled through her show in Cardiff and the following morning confirmed Saturday’s concert in Southend has been cancelled.
“It breaks my heart to be writing this but after suffering with a sore throat for a few days now last night during Cardiff’s show I lost my voice on stage,” she shared. “I tried so hard to push through and give everyone a great show still.
“I appreciated all the love and support I felt from the audience so much, you all got me through. I’ve woken up today with no voice still and I’m so upset to let you know I won’t be able to perform in Southend tonight, I’m truly sorry.
“My voice just isn’t there and as a vocalist there’s just no show without it. I’m sending so much love, my heart is broken that I can’t perform for you tonight. I’m hopeful with a few days rest I’ll be able to resume the tour next week.
“To all my fans in Southend I’m devastated to not see you and so deeply sorry xx.”
The next show is scheduled for Tuesday at Newcastle’s O2 City Hall.
