Kylie Minogue is celebrating the 35th anniversary of her classic debut album with a pair of coloured vinyl reissues.
The Aussie pop icon made her international debut with I Should Be So Lucky in December 1987 and released her LP, ‘Kylie’ – written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman – the following year.

It features the singles Got To Be Certain, The Loco-Motion and Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi and topped the UK charts, giving the young star her first No. 1.
Marking its latest milestone, the record is being repressed on aquamarine clear and neon pink vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve, in November.
In an announcement post, she said: “Thank you for 35 years of LOVE!! This brings back SO many memories!”
‘Kylie’ is out November 24 on BMG and available to pre-order now.
The release coincides with the November launch of Kylie’s first-ever Las Vegas residency, which follows the release of her 16th album, ‘Tension’, featuring the hit single Padam Padam.
At a Los Angeles launch for the dates, she opened up about her plans for the concerts, which will encompass her greatest hits rather than tying in directly with the release of the new album.
“I want it to be the kind of essence of what a Kylie show has become, enough glamour and abandon,” she shared. “I’ve got some versions of songs that have not been heard, like reinterpretations of songs, which is exciting. Live bed dances, amazing costumes.
“That’s the base and then we’ll see what surprises we can come up with,” the Aussie star revealed, while admitting she feels like she’s “earned the right” to take her concert experience to Vegas.

“I was thinking years ago I want to do it when I’m younger like, I don’t want to do it when I’m at the sunset of my career,” she smiled of the show, which will feature tracks from her forthcoming album, ‘Tension’, alongside hits such as Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Spinning Around and Slow.
Kylie will premiere her Las Vegas show at the Voltaire nightclub at The Venetian on November 4.
Ahead of the launch, Kylie will release ‘Tension’, of which she says: “I started this album with an open mind and a blank page. Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme’, it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song.
“I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”
For the LP, the pop icon has worked with a number of producers, with seven of the tracks being produced and co-written with her long-time collaborators, Biff Stannard and Duck Blackwell.
Discussing the recording process, Kylie adds: “I loved being back in the studio with my collaborators but was also able to benefit from remote recording, which we have all got used to – my mobile studio never left my side for a year and a half!
“The album is a mix of songs I have written and songs which really spoke to me. Making this album helped me navigate challenging times and celebrate the now. I hope it accompanies listeners on their own journeys and becomes part of their story.”
