Kylie Minogue would love to collaborate with Madonna if both pop icons found themselves in the same place at the same time.
The Aussie superstar, who is riding high in the UK Top 10 and making waves globally with her current hit, Padam Padam, would “of course” jump at the chance to team up with the Queen of Pop.
“She’s going on tour,” she revealed at the at the annual KTUphoria festival in New York. “I don’t have Madonna’s number but if I was in town and she was in town it would be amazing. The building would probably fall down. We’d need to send our warnings!”
Meanwhile, the Can’t Get You Out Of My Head hitmaker also hinted at her own plans for the future and teased that a US tour may be on the horizon.
“I would love to,” she beamed. “And I think now is the time. There I said it. Now is the time to do our best to make that happen.”
Kylie’s latest single, Padam Padam, is one of 11 tracks on her 16th album, ‘Tension’ – alongside previous release 10 out of 10 with Oliver Heldens – of which Kylie says: “I started this album with an open mind and a blank page. Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme’, it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song.
“I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”
For the LP, the pop icon has worked with a number of producers, with seven of the tracks being produced and co-written with her long-time collaborators, Biff Stannard and Duck Blackwell.
Discussing the recording process, Kylie adds: “I loved being back in the studio with my collaborators but was also able to benefit from remote recording, which we have all got used to – my mobile studio never left my side for a year and a half!
“The album is a mix of songs I have written and songs which really spoke to me. Making this album helped me navigate challenging times and celebrate the now. I hope it accompanies listeners on their own journeys and becomes part of their story.”
