Charlotte Church is preparing to release her first new album in 16 years.
The Welsh star – who released a trio of classical albums in the late ’90s and early ’00s, before crossing over to pop with her 2005 LP ‘Tissues and Issues’, featuring the massive hit ‘Crazy Chick’ – released her most-recent record ‘Back to Scratch’ in 2010.
Now, after releasing a handful of EPs in the years between, Church is preparing to return to music with her seventh album.
“I’ve just done the final mix, so hopefully [it will be released] in 2027,” she tells The Observer. “It’s my first album in 16 years and it sounds like nothing you’ve ever heard. It’s really difficult to put into a genre category.
“I jump all around the place,” she adds. “It’s deep and it’s big and it’s courageous.”
It comes as the singer continues her ‘Charlotte Church’s End Times’ Pop Dungeon’ tour across the UK through September.
