Kylie Minogue is being eyed to return to The Voice Australia as producers plan a massive shake-up ahead of the 2021 instalment of the show.
The Spinning Around star previously filled in for regular coach Delta Goodrem on the 2014 series of the programme – the same year she also appeared on the UK version of the show.
According to Australian magazine New Idea, a drop in ratings and issues relating to Covid-19 have plagued the current series, leading to bosses hoping to revitalise proceedings with new faces.
The publication claimed current coaches, Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland and Culture Club frontman Boy George, will be replaced by Kylie and country star Keith Urban, respectively.
An insider added: “I think they will try and reinvent themselves with two new Aussie judges and use ‘All Aussie Voice’ as a tagline for 2021.”
Keith also knows the show well and was one of the original coaches on the the debut series in 2012. According to the insider, he “is top of their list as he was loved the first time around.”
The addition of Kylie will be one step closer to the Minogues taking over Australian singing contests – All I Wanna Do star Dannii is currently a judge on The Masked Singer Down Under!
