Kylie Minogue is keen to start working on her new album while in Las Vegas.
The Aussie superstar will launch her ‘More Than Just A Residency’ shows at The Venetian on November 3, weeks after she topped the UK charts with her 16th LP, ‘Tension’.
Speaking on the ‘Billboard Pop Shop’ podcast, Kylie said she’s already planning its follow-up, sharing: “How I feel about it and how I feel about my main co-writers is we’ve tapped into something that I’d love to explore more.
“I don’t think I’ll be that fast but I do think I’ll start working on it [in Vegas].”
Revealing she has different ways of working with her main collaborators, including Richard ‘Biff’ Stannard and Duck Blackwell, she added: “I just send them a message, ‘incoming, expect blah, blah, blah, turn it into magic if it isn’t.
“But I only send stuff that is fit to be sent.
“There’s some people I work with – the team I talk about a lot – that I could send something that was terrible, like, ‘Here’s the idea, just something to get us going.’ I would feel comfortable with these people, but not with everyone.”
At a Los Angeles launch for the dates, Kylie opened up about her plans for the concerts, which will encompass her greatest hits rather than tying in directly with the release of the new album.
“I want it to be the kind of essence of what a Kylie show has become, enough glamour and abandon,” she shared. “I’ve got some versions of songs that have not been heard, like reinterpretations of songs, which is exciting. Live bed dances, amazing costumes.
“That’s the base and then we’ll see what surprises we can come up with,” the Aussie star revealed, while admitting she feels like she’s “earned the right” to take her concert experience to Vegas.

“I was thinking years ago I want to do it when I’m younger like, I don’t want to do it when I’m at the sunset of my career,” she smiled of the show, which will feature tracks from her forthcoming album, ‘Tension’, alongside hits such as Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Spinning Around and Slow.
In a review of the album, RETROPOP called ‘Tension’ “a great pop record and a testament to Kylie’s continued relevance and indisputable legacy as one of greatest pop stars of all time”.
