Kraftwerk star Wolfgang Flür is back with his star-studded album ‘Magazine 1’.
The LP sees the group’s founding member collaborate with some of the most famous names in synth-pop and electronic dance, past and present.
Featuring Midge Ure (Ultravox), Peter Hook (New Order) and Claudia Brücken (Propaganda), alongside the legendary Techno DJ’s Juan Atkins and Carl Cox and Electro-Pop titans U96, the nine-song set is a celebration of Techno-pop.
Musically, the album “draws on a readily identifiable retro-electro palate”, with lyrics that speak of modern times and a “humanism that reflects on the challenges, disorientations and uncertainties of this unprecedented time of change,” according to a press release.
Flür is the only surviving member of that classic Kraftwerk line-up who is currently making and releasing new music.
‘Magazine 1’, due March 4, is available to pre-order on CD and vinyl.
