Released: March 25
Kraftwerk’s ‘Remixes’ compilation is available for the first time on vinyl and CD.
Originally released across digital platforms in December 2020, the 19-track collection collates Kraftwerk’s own remixes alongside contributions from some of the world’s biggest DJs and producers.
An all-star production ensemble includes François Kervorkian, William Orbit, Étienne de Crécy, Orbital, Underground Resistance, DJRolando and Hot Chip, with reworkings that pay tribute to the electronic groups influence on Club & DJ culture, techno and dance music.
The remixes are taken from various Kraftwerk 12” singles, CD singles and digital releases from 1991 – 2021.
The album also plays host to Kraftwerk’s very latest Kling Klang studio output, with the inclusion of Non Stop, which began life as a soundbite recorded for MTV in the 1980s and was transformed into a full eight-minute odyssey in 2020.
Also featured are newly updated mixes of Home Computer and Tour De France (Etape 2).
Other highlights include the William Orbit Hardcore Mix of Radioactivity, DJ Rolando’s reworking of Expo 2000, Francois K’s & Étienne de Crécy’s remixes of Aéro Dynamik, and Kraftwerk’s own remix of The Robots (dubbed Robotnik).
The release sees the mixes collated for the first time across a 2CD set, along with triple vinyl editions pressed on black and stunning yellow vinyl.
Whether a fan of Kraftwerk or electronic music as a whole, this remix LP is a definite essential from masters of the genre.
