‘90s pop star Kavana will release his debut memoir, ‘Pop Scars’, later this year.
The tome from the I Can Make You Feel Good hitmaker will be published by Blink, Bonnier Books UK’s flagship commercial non-fiction imprint, in July 2005, with the singer describing the book as “an addiction memoir”.
“I began writing this book a long time ago but never had the courage or, more to the point, sobriety to see it through,” he said in a statement. “I also didn’t feel worthy of writing it! Then I realised that ultimately this is an addiction memoir.
“It was only then I gave myself the permission to write it and go places I’d never thought I’d allow myself to. We don’t often hear what happens to someone once the applause stops and how you can find a way forward even during the darkest times.”
He added: “Ultimately, mine is a story of survival even when the odds are pretty stacked against you; I’m definitely lucky to be here.”
Publishing Director Ciara Lloyd said of the project: “Anthony’s story is as shocking as it is fascinating – both a journey through the darker side of the world of 90s pop, and an incredible story of strength and redemption.
“Anthony’s writing is visceral, inviting you into a world of excess, success and life beyond fame. We’re incredibly proud to publish Pop Scars on Blink.”
