Katrina is back with the second single from her forthcoming album Hearts, Loves & Babys, the brilliant I Want To Love Again.
The pop-rock track was written by the Katrina and the Waves front-woman and was inspired by close friend Samantha Fox, after the chart-topping singer lost her partner, Myra Stratton, to cancer back in 2015.
“Samantha Fox asked me to write something for her so when her partner died I could see she felt lonely and wanted to find someone, she wanted to love again,” Katrina says in a press release.
“This song was shortlisted for Eurovision. Samantha’s decided to make a rock record instead.”
Over pounding drums and rock-tinged guitars, she belts: “Someone to love / Someone to touch/ Someone to hold me / I miss it so much / I’m ready to love again.”
I Want To Love Again follows the record’s lead single, Drive, which is out now. Hearts, Loves & Babys is out August 28th.
