Joyce Sims, best known for her 1987 single Come Into My Life, has died.
The R&B star passed away at the age of 63, her family confirmed on social media, with her sister Annette Ramsey writing her “heart is broken”.
“I will always remember the happy times we’ve shared, the love and support you have given me will not go in vain,” she penned on Facebook. “I Love you Big Sis RIP.”
Debbie Sims Hall, another of Sims’ sisters, said her late sibling was “a beautiful soul inside and out” who “will truly be missed”.
Having reached the UK Top 20 with her first hit All and All, it was the subsequent release Come Into My Life that took the vocalist to the Top 10 and became a US R&B hit.
Having released two albums in the 1980s – ‘Come Into My Life’ and ‘All About Love’ – Joyce returned in 2006 with ‘A New Beginning’.
The star, born in Rochester, New York, had been touring the UK over the summer and was reportedly set to release an album this year.
