The iconic soundtrack to ‘Josie and The Pussycats’ is coming to vinyl to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the classic movie.
Due July, the album comes pressed on neon purple coloured 180g vinyl and each order of the limited edition set comes complete with one of three DuJour Around the World 7″ singles – in either neon blue, orange or pink.
“‘Josie and The Pussycats (Music from the Motion Picture)’ is a time machine back to the last days of rock and roll, and boy bands from the TRL era of MTV,” says a press release for the LP.
“It’s such an incredibly catchy album that it went Gold despite the film it soundtracked being widely considered a bomb,” it continues. “But despite all of that, ‘Josie and the Pussycats’ is a cult classic in the truest definition.
“Reevaluated, and reclaimed by an entire generation 20 years later, it’s time to find out for yourself what DuJour really means, and swear on your Bus Pass that you’ll give this album a spin.”
The release also comes with a 12-page booklet full of behind the scenes photos and interviews with writer/directors Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont, Kay Hanley, and Josie herself, Rachael Leigh Cook
