Janet Jackson recreated her iconic control look as she inducted Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday night.
The pop icon showed up at the event to honour the songwriting and production duo, who helped launch her as a global megastar with her 1986 album ‘Control’.
In a nod to the artwork for the LP, the hitmaker donned an all-black pantsuit with a high collar jacket, with her hair fashioned into an updo with voluminous curls styled to one side of her head.
‘Control’ marked a turning point in Janet’s career, with the album delivering five hit singles: What Have You Done for Me Lately, Nasty, When I Think of You, Control and Let’s Wait Awhile.
As the album turned 35 last year, it rocketed back to the top of the US iTunes Pop Chart, with Janet reflecting on the milestone in a social media post.
“I never, never in a million years, I would never think that this would happen. I really appreciate you and I love you so, so much. Thank you,” she penned.
Her appearance at the 2022 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony comes three years after the hitmaker herself was honoured by the institution in 2019.
