Janet Jackson launches Together Again Tour with epic setlist of hits and rarities

Janet Jackson opened her ‘Together Again Tour’ in Florida with a mega setlist packed with classic hits and deep cuts. 

Taking the stage at the Hard Rock Live venue in Florida on Friday, the superstar kicked off her first run of live shows in four years in celebration of her 50-year career.

With a focus on 1997’s ‘The Velvet Rope’ and 1993’s ‘Janet’, the show clocked in at 40 songs, including hits from her catalogue like Nasty, The Pleasure Principle, Black Cat and Control.

It also marked the live debuts of Damita Jo, Enjoy, Girlfriend/Boyfriend, Like You Don’t Love Me, and Do It 2 Me, alongside rarities such as Because Of Love, which was last played in 1995, and Diamonds, which appeared for the first time since 2011.

The shows continue with a second stop at the venue on Sunday, April 16, before continuing across the US through June.

Janet will allow cameras into her life as she documents her journey across the US, with preparations for the run of shows being filmed for the upcoming ‘Janet Jackson: Family First’ project – the follow-up to her self-titled 2022 documentary, chronicling the creative process and she brings the show to life and takes it to audiences across the States. 

“I was touched by the love and support from the wonderful fans who enjoyed the documentary last year,” she shared. “I am excited to continue to share my story, and welcome fans into my life and the ‘Together Again Tour’.

“Thank you for your never-ending support, and I hope you enjoy the next chapter.”

Directed by Ben Hirsch, the documentary will be simulcast on the Lifetime and A&E networks in the U.S., with a release date yet to be announced.

Janet’s brother Randy Jackson, who serves as an executive producer, revealed the documentary will also celebrate her 50th anniversary in the entertainment business.

“In this next chapter in the documentary, Janet and I are thrilled to welcome viewers on the road with us as we embark on the ‘Together Again Tour’, celebrating the milestone of 50 years of Janet’s career with fans across the country,” he added. 

“We look forward to the continued partnership with Lifetime and A&E, and to sharing our family with viewers.”
