Jack Savoretti has quietly released a collaboration with Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
The singer-songwriter teamed up with the pop powerhouse on a new version of Late Night, which was originally included on his ‘Europiana Encore’ deluxe album.
While the original recording sees Jack perform the track solo, the duet appears on the vinyl edition of the LP, dubbed ‘Europiana Encore (Italian Edition)’ as a hidden track.
It’s not yet clear whether the pair will give the track a wider release at a later date.
Speaking in the June 2022 issue of Retro Pop, Jack opens up about his struggles in the music industry early in his career, admitting: “When I look back, I am still very confused at why I never let go.
“I still can’t explain to myself – if I look back 10 years ago, especially – why I didn’t walk away. I must have been resilient, because honestly, people were not kind to us.
“The industry was not kind to us. It really told us to piss off. They wanted nothing to do with us for a long time. And the fact that I didn’t just take that and leave, I must have been a pretty stubborn 20 year old.”
Now, he’s riding high on the success of his latest chart-topper and, following the release of ‘Europiana Encore‘, he’s having more fun than ever.
“You want to be sunburned and dancing late at night listening to it,” he beams. “These are all songs for open windows, open rooftops, and sweating under the stars.
“I wanted to mix it up with the whole ‘Encore’ vibe.”
In a review of the album, Retro Pop said ‘Europiana Encore’ adds another chapter to the story, painting a perfect sun-kissed backdrop and the soundtrack to many summers to come.
