National Album Day is celebrating female artists with the brand new ‘Hear Her Voice’ 21-track compilation.
Released October 16, the collection spotlights the most influential female artists from 1968 to the present day from the Universal Music UK catalogue
The tracks come from records highlighted as part of this year’s National Album Day with its theme of celebrating women in music.
Included on the set – available on vinyl with yellow artwork exclusively from HMV, CD (red artwork) and on all digital platforms – are tracks from classic acts like Sandie Shaw, Dusty Springfield and Marianne Faithfull, to modern-day icons like Jessie Ware, Robyn and Amy Winehouse.
“The breadth of female talent in the Universal Music UK catalogue is immense,” says Lisa Power, founder of reissuesbywomen.com, who compiled the set.
“And it is not overstating it to say that we were blown away by the overwhelmingly positive responses to be part of this collection, which showcases songs from some of the most critically acclaimed and enduringly successful albums by iconic women across six decades of music history.”
‘Hear Her Voice’ is available to pre-order on CD and vinyl.
