A cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
Paul was a founding member of Happy Mondays since their formation in 1980 and played with the band full-time until 1993, when they initially split, and later rejoined his bandmates in 1999 for a string of gigs.
He didn’t rejoin for another reunion in 2004, but did return in 2012 when the original members reformed.
The group continued to tour until the present day.
