Gorillaz have released a deluxe edition of their new album ‘Cracker Island’ featuring contributions from De La Soul, Del The Funky Homosapien and others.
Released on Friday, the new album from Damon Albarn and co. features collaborators including Stevie Nicks, Bad Bunny, Beck, Thundercat, and Adeleye Omotayond, among others.
Just two days after dropping the LP, the group unveiled a new versions with five bonus tracks: new songs Captain Chicken (featuring Del The Funky Homosapien), Controllah (featuring MC Bin Laden) and Crockadillaz (featuring De La Soul and Dawn Penn), plus a ‘2D Piano Version’ of Silent Running (featuring Adeleye Omotayo), and a Dom Dolla remix of New Gold with Tame Impala and Bootie Brown.
‘Cracker Island’ is the follow-up to ‘Song Machine, Season One – Strange Timez‘ (2020) and raced to the top of the UK iTunes Chart upon its release.
In a review of the album, RETROPOP praised ‘Cracker Island’, calling the LP “a testament to the group that, after more than 20 years, they’re still delivering some of their best material”.
