Gorillaz have secured this week’s UK No. 1 album with ‘Cracker Island’.

Starring 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russell Hobbs, the LP beat off competition from Adam Lambert and Gracie Abrams to become the group’s first chart-topper since 2005’s ‘Demon Days’.

“Never in doubt, really. Not only was this foretold in the prophecies, we have the greatest fans in the cosmos! Plus, an army of Cracker Island crack teams all over the world doing their bit for the cause,” Murdoc Niccals tells OfficialCharts.com.

“It really does take a global village to raise a Number 1 smash hit album! Praise be to every single one of you!”

Slipping one spot to No. 2 is last week’s chart-topper ‘Trustfall’ by P!nk, which comes in ahead of Gracie Abrams’ ‘Good Riddance’ and ‘The Highlights’ from The Weeknd, at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

Adam Lambert’s covers collection ‘High Drama’ rounds out the Top 5.

Over on the Singles Chart, Miley Cyrus remains at No. 1 with Flowers, marking its seventh week at the summit.

Boy’s A Liar from PinkPantheress is at No. 2, with SZA’s Kill Bill at No. 3 and The Weeknd’s Die For You at No. 4.

Holding up at No. 5 is Miguel’s viral hit Sure Thing.
