Girls Aloud are “not even thinking about” celebrating their 20th anniversary following the death of bandmate Sarah Harding. 

The singer, 39, passed away in September following a battle with “advanced” breast cancer, with Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh each sharing emotional tributes online. 

While the late star’s diagnosis was public and she spoke openly about her health issues in her memoir ‘Hear Me Out’, the group had hinted at plans to reunite in 2022 to celebrate two decades since their formation. 

However, in an interview with The Sun Kimberley insisted their plans have been shelved following their recent heartbreak. 

“It’s not really something we’re even thinking about obviously, with the situation as it is,” she confessed. “No one is even in that headspace right now.”

Despite the tough times, the Call The Shots star admitted the girls were holding up well and had become closer than ever since embarking on a hiatus in 2013. 

Following the news of Sarah’s passing, it’s been reported Girls Aloud are in “talks” for a charity concert to raise money for vital causes in her memory. 

Sources revealed: “It’s bittersweet, of course. They’ve all been through the most devastating news and it’s beyond tragic.

“But when the time is right they’d love to see a concert in Sarah’s memory.

“It would be hugely emotional for everyone involved, but it feels like a wonderful thing to do after everyone had hoped they might be able to do it together.

“They loved her energy and her zest for everything, so it would have to be done in that spirit. And if it could raise some money for charity too, then even better.”

The concert is believed to be inspired in part by The Wanted star Tom Parker’s Stand Up 2 Cancer gig at London’s Royal Albert Hall, which he masterminded after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. 

Meanwhile, fans of the singer raised over £3,000 in support of The Christie, which cared for Sarah during her illness.
