Girls Aloud will take part in a special Race For Life in honour of their late bandmate Sarah Harding.
Singers Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts are participating in a number of fundraising activities throughout the year in a bid to raise money for breast cancer research.
Taking place on July 24, the run in Hyde Park, London will begin at 11.30am, and those who can’t attend are encouraged to do a Race for Life at Home for Sarah.
In a social media post, Cheryl said: “One of the only things [Sarah] really wanted was a gala dinner, so while that is under way and we are doing that, we felt like we could be doing more and we have decided to do Race For Life For Sarah at Hyde Park on the 24 July.
“And I know so many of you wanted to support her, you were helping her all the way through the illness, and we would really love it If you could join us there.”
Kimberley and Nicola also published the poster for the event on their Instagram pages.
Last year, Sarah released her memoir ‘Hear Me Out‘, and shared the devastating news of her prognosis, confirming: “In December my doctor told me that the upcoming Christmas would probably be my last.”
However, Sarah said she was “trying to live and enjoy every second of my life, however long it might be”.
She sadly passed away in September 2021.
