Musical force Georgia breaks through new boundaries and delivers her strongest work yet on her superb third album, ‘Euphoric’.

Georgia details ‘extraordinary’ studio sessions with Shania Twain and Damon Albarn: ‘I knew that people would be weirded out by the idea!’ [Exclusive]

Arriving three years after her breakthrough LP, ‘Seeking Thrills’, the singer-songwriter and producer’s latest offering sees her take her sound out into the world, stepping out of the bedroom where she penned the majority of her early material and letting go of the established techniques she worked by.

“I wanted an adventure! Being a self-produced musician, it’s easy to get stuck on one thing or in one place,” she shares, “but music can take you to so many places and I just wanted to make a record that embodied the sound of me actually living!”

Compelled by a DM from producer Rostam Batmanglij, whose work includes recent hits for Carly Rae Jepsen and Haim, the pair joined forces and penned what would become the title song from the album, It’s Euphoric, and established a blueprint for the sound of the record going forward.

Powered by a sweeping sense of ecstasy, it’s a departure from the trance-influenced drops of the past and leans into classic pop formulas, with a focus on the musician’s personal lyrics and emotive delivery.

The single Give It Up For Love – helmed by William Orbit – explodes from the hazy, underwater production of the verse, into a vibrant and technicolour chorus, while So What fuses a heartfelt ballad with dance sensibilities for a formula that captures the essence of the record.

From the ambient, earthy Mountain Song to the Saturday-night-festival-banger Some Things You’ll Never Know, there is an innate pulse that flows through the album, with many of the tracks starting life organically and acoustically, establishing a foundation for the LP beyond its lush production.

The resulting album is something of a wonder; segueing between heart-wrenching lyrics to intense calls to the dance floor on jubilant moments like All Night and Friends Will Never Let You Go, ‘Euphoric’ is body of work that exists in the moment, capturing and holding onto every single emotion and exuding a vibrant appreciation for life that’s wholly captivating and instantly infectious.
