Plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of George Michael’s third album ‘Older’ have been postponed.
The late singer’s Estate planned to mark the milestone this year but have stalled the reissue until 2022.
In a statement, they said: For reasons beyond our control, due to global supply and manufacturing difficulties, it is with great regret that we have had to delay plans to mark and celebrate the 25th anniversary of Older until the first half of 2022.

“We know that you will not be disappointed with what we have planned, and in the meantime we want to thank you all for your patience and for the love and continued support for George and his music.”
The classic LP, featuring the hits Jesus to a Child, Fastlove, Spinning the Wheel and more, hit the milestone earlier this year, with his social media pages promising something “very special” was on the way.
It comes after George’s classic hit Careless Whisper was voted the most loved song of all time by Smooth Radio listeners.
The 1984 tune, penned by Wham! stars George and Andrew Ridgeley, topped the All Time Top 500 for 2021 poll for the third consecutive year – fourth in total – following the recent fan vote.
“We are once again bowled over to hear the amazing news that, for the third year running, Careless Whisper has been voted number one in Smooth’s All Time Top 500, in 2021,” said his sister, Yioda Panayiotou, and Chris Organ.
“To know that George’s music continues to be loved by his fans and lovelies all over the world means everything to us, as it would have done to George.”
