Gary Kemp will release his third solo album ‘This Destination’ on January 31, 2025.
The follow-up to his 2021 comeback ‘INSOLO’ is billed as the Spandau Ballet star’s most personal body of work to date, with the singer-songwriter channeling his thoughts and feelings about the past, present and future through the guise of uncanny storytelling and character work.

Clocking in at 11 songs, the 11-track LP is a journey of discovery for Kemp who, in the years following the pandemic, hit an unexpected wall of anxiety and a lapse in self-belief, which was broken by a phone call from a famous pal who got him back on track.
“It was Richard Hawley. We chatted for a while and I told him I’d been going round in circles trying to write something that day. He said ‘Okay, here’s what you do. Go over to the piano and sit down’,” he reveals.
“‘Put your hands out over the keys. I’m going to go now, and you’re going to write a fucking brilliant song.’”
Among those songs is the title track to the record – which features contributions from Guy Pratt, John Metcalfe and Sam Lee – of which he adds: “It’s about my relationship with music. Whatever I’m going through, whatever conflict arises, the process of making music is my resolution. That’s my destination.”
The album’s lead single, Put Your Head Up, is out now.
