Gary Barlow will celebrate his 50th birthday a year late with a one-off solo gig at the London Palladium in 2022.
The Take That star turned 50 on Wednesday, January 20th but, amid the pandemic, he’s been forced to push back his plans to mark the occasion by 12 months.
Speaking on Magic Radio, the Back for Good star reveals he’s already booked the evening, sharing: “It’s 50 today but I’m actually postponing it to next year.
“I’m gonna do a big gig on this day next year. I’m gonna do what I originally had planned and I’ve booked the London Palladium. I’m gonna do a gig.”
Ahead of that show, Gary is set to hit the road in November of this year for his Music Played by Humans Tour – and he’s optimistic the dates, which were rescheduled from June, will go ahead.
“I mean we’ve already moved the tour back from June to November and I do think; I don’t know what you think, but I, I think we’re gonna be alright for then,” he insists.

“So, I’m looking forward to it. I wanna fill the stage with musicians. You know, our industry’s had a battering, so as many people as I can get on that stage and give work to… I’m gonna try and have an orchestra on stage.
“You know, it is music played by humans and I want as many humans as possible up there.”
Gary dropped his most recent album, Music Played by Humans, in 2020, featuring collaborations with stars including Michael Bublé, Sebastián Yatra, Barry Manilow, Alesha Dixon and Beverley Knight.
“I wanted this album to be absolutely packed with players,” Gary says of Music Played By Humans.
“Then, weirdly, all this has happened where we’re not allowed to be near anyone anymore and it’s been so strange.
“I listen to it and just think, ‘Thank God I did it before all this started’.”
