R&B trio FLO have released their new track Losing You.
The group – starring Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma, and Renée Downer – looks set to be one of the biggest acts of 2023 and rounded out the year by sharing their latest single.
“It’s fitting that Losing You is being released this time of the year,” the group said in a statement, “as it’s all about going through a loss but somehow being comforted by it.
“It reminds you of how content you are by yourself and finding that cheerful spirit during a tough time.”
The girl group was recently named 2023 recipients of the BRITs Rising Star Award over Cat Burns and Nia Archives, joining a select group of artists including Adele, Florence & The Machine and Ellie Goulding.
“From growing up watching the BRITs, to finding each other and forming FLO, releasing our first body of work in 2022 and winning a BRIT award in the same year,” they said. “We are so shocked and grateful. We are the first group to win the BRITs Rising Star!
“We’ve just made history and couldn’t have done it without our wonderful fans and supportive families. It’s truly a dream come true. We feel so empowered creating the music we love and we hope others feel that too.”
FLO were named as one of Retro Pop’s Ones to Watch in our 2023 Introducing… feature and, speaking exclusively in the January 2023 issue, the trio opened up about the artists that influence their sound.
“We love Brandy, Aaliyah, Destiny’s Child, Victoria Monet – music our mums were listening to when we were young,” they shared, before teasing plans for the new year.
“Our headline show at Outernet in March we really can’t wait for and summer festival season will be here in no time,” they beamed. “Watch this space Retro Pop… we’ve got lots coming for you!”
